There are few things in life that make a person happier than a little retail therapy. So today is the day I say goodbye to my old bike and hello to a new one.
I’ve been riding the Triumph Explorer now for the last five years and, whilst it has proven itself a good, sturdy workhorse, its weight and height means that it is a real pig to either move around manually or to mount or dismount – especially if not on level ground.

So there is some measure of sadness to see her go, but it is more than overdue time for a change. Hence the rather radical shift from the above, to a new bobber:

I think this has to be the fastest motorcycle purchase I’ve ever conducted. Went out for a test ride yesterday, concluded the sale within two hours. Picking up the bike today.
Whilst the bobber isn’t the quickest bike around – get it up to much above 70mph and helmet lift and wind buffeting become a little unbearable – it’s certainly the torquiest I think I’ve ever ridden. Crack the throttle, and you can feel that the bike wants to simply chuck you off the back unless you hang on for dear life.
Think it’s going to be a fun summer…
